We are honoured to announce our nomination for Excellence in Innovation at this year’s AIRAH Awards, an event that celebrates excellence and achievement in Australia’s HVAC&R building services industry.
The Excellence in Innovation Award recognises significant Australian improvements in the areas of HVAC&R achieved through innovation, including new or significantly improved systems, plant and equipment, or processes.
Our nomination followed the completion of the Ken Rosewall Tennis Arena project, during which we worked with Cox Architects, Arup Engineers, and the installation contracts, PJS Air, to solve the arena’s serious issues with thermal comfort.
With the Australian tennis season held in the height of summer, athletes and spectators often endure excessive heat and soaring temperatures at major events like the ATP Cup. After development of a prefabricated membrane roof cover and installation of 72 Airius® patented air movement systems, the facility was able to ensure a comfortable thermal undercover outdoor environment, suitable for elite sports stars and spectators alike, and no refrigerated air required.
With a global climate crisis on our hands and an urgently escalating need for effective and low-emission cooling solutions, we are especially proud to be a finalist in the Excellence in Innovation category as an industry leader in future-forward low-carbon cooling systems.
Congratulations to AMP Capital, who took out the win in this category for their design and delivery of energy-saving and carbon-offsetting HVAC systems for the Quay Quarter Tower project.
The 2022 AIRAH Awards ceremony was held in Sydney on Thursday 24 November, with the Airius Oceania team attending the illustrious annual gala dinner to celebrate the industry’s high achievers, exceptional projects, and trailblazing research.
